Myspace Friends- Know How to Market to Them-1

Posted in Community by admin on November 2, 2009 No Comments yet

Social networking websites began to reconnect old friends. After that the trend turned to keep connected with existing friends. This has brought a revolution in the traffic on social networking websites such as myspace. How to make use of myspace friends to market them? Let us talk about it.

What are you marketing?

The first question would be what are you marketing? Are you an online seller? Are you trying to spread word about your website? Are you doing surveys? What you want is most important first step. If you are an online marketing company, you can try to sell your good to your friends. But will that work? So we arrive at the objectives. List out all the objectives of your marketing effort and find out what can be easily achieved with myspace. An online marketing company may have many objectives such as- 1. Locate customers, 2. Inform customers, 3. Persuade customers to view your website, 4. Make them buy.

Can you expect to achieve all these objectives on myspace? The answer would be a clear no. Then which objectives can be easily achieved? For that we have to study the psychology of the visitors.

Achievable objectives-

Let me give you an example. If a couple has come out to take a stroll, can you persuade them to enter your shop and make a purchase? That sounds very difficult. What you can do is to strategically place your billboards so that their mind gets some collection about you. This also applies to myspace. Most of the visitors do not come to myspace to buy. They are there to meet friends and exchange news and ideas. Most you can do is to inform them about your offering in most unobtrusive manner. In the next parts, we will discuss how to do that.

You can always update your page at MySpace. MySpace is fascinating when you see what everyone is doing with his or her page. MySpace makes it simple to create very different looks using one of their many theme pages. It is easy to tweak the pages with backgrounds, graphics, avatars and your own images. You can find graphics and other stuff made by other MySpace users on the web. You can entertain visitors to your web page by putting games and other applications on your page.

Your profile is your space at MySpace. It is like creating your own little virtual living room. Visitors to your site can play your current favorite music and watch the videos that make you laugh. It is all about sharing your thoughts and being yourself while knowing that there are others like yourself at MySpace.

Looking at people’s profiles is a favorite pastime of visitors and MySpace users. The home page has daily featured people, music and videos. It is easy to find people with the same taste in life because you can search for profile pages by using the search tool.

Socializing through instant messages makes it possible to meet and chat with friends that are registered MySpace users. A privacy setting allows users to control who gets to see their page. You can set the privacy setting so that everyone or a select group can visit your page.

A popular feature on each page is the comments section. This feature allows page visitors to leave a comment on the page. Many users especially like when they get many, many comments on their page. It is a virtual tribute to the popularity of a person’s presence on the web.

The friend request tool is another popular feature at MySpace. MySpace users can meet new friends or connect with old friends by reaching out with the friend request tool. Having many friends will enhance a user’s ability to get numerous comments. Many people with a MySpace page love it when their page has frequent visitors and comments.

MySpace; Not Just For Friends Anymore

Posted in Community by admin on October 30, 2009 No Comments yet

One of the main reasons I first joined up with MySpace when it first got developed was to meet new people and keep in touch with old friends. Eventually though it became more to me as a way to get business leads than anything else. In fact, a few months ago I kept hearing about all these beneficial reasons of having a MySpace account, one of which was for business reasons, so I decided to give it a shot. At first I was a little worried about how I would add enough friends, I even did the not so smart thing and tried adding people by hand. Eventually that just annoyed me because really who has the time to do something like this by hand!?! Not me! I did a little research and looked around quite a bit and found out that you can actually automatically get people to accept you on MySpace by sending out friend requests; automatically. Its pretty crazy but most of these processes are free.

For the most part there are two types of programs available online to you:

Website Friend Adders –
These websites allow you to log into a site and add hundreds if not thousands of people a day to YOUR account. This can be done quite easily and very quickly. It’s a nice little time saver indeed. You can also do a bulk add which allows you to add anywhere from 15-50 people in a matter of minutes. Pretty nifty! Simply log in, add your Friend ID, and voila. You are done. Add some friends accept some invites. I actually tried one of these just as a test; I logged in and sat there with the page open for 15 min and got 45 friend requests. So in reality you could just leave that page open, go to work, come home and have a few hundred invites!

Program Friend Adder –
There are actual programs you will download onto your computer and add friends. You can add just anyone or you can be a little bit more specific, searching by age, sex, interests, location, etc. These are nice because you can really pick and choose who you want to add and who you don’t want to add! Also, you can send automated comments, replies, PMs and bulletins to ALL of your friends at once!

In both of these additions we are shown that MySpace has quickly become a place for more than just friends. Although there are instances where people aren’t promoting anything and just want a truck load of friends, for the most part the people that use the above programs are people who are looking to promote or market something or even themselves. This is a really great benefit because you can easily have people see your profile and you can also send out siglinks that include your MySpace profile, or website link with a little meet and greet added to the message. It’s incredibly simply, why wouldn’t you want to do something like this!?!

Finding Old Friends Through Myspace

Posted in Community by admin on October 16, 2009 No Comments yet

The MySpace community is a wonderful forum which allows members to make new friends. While most users of MySpace are aware of the opportunity to make new friends through their interactions in the community, some of them may not realize MySpace can be used to find old friends with which you have lost contact. Although most people have the best of intentions of staying in contact with friends, this often does not happen. There are a number of reasons including careers, family obligations and social commitments which prevent old friends from staying in touch. Fortunately, MySpace offers a way for these old friends to reconnect. Although there are countless ways for old friends to find each other on MySpace we will describe three methods for finding old friends on MySpace which are popularly used by members of the community.

Let Them Come to You

The easiest way to reconnect with old friends on MySpace is to let them find you. Joining MySpace and creating a website profile may be all it takes for some members to find old friends within the community. If you are looking for an old friend, chances are they often wonder about you as well. If this old friend is already a member of MySpace they may occasionally search for you by name, nickname or interests throughout the community. MySpace has a search feature which gives users a variety of options which can help them to find long lost friends.

While this may seem like a passive approach to finding old friends on MySpace it can be very effective. It is especially effective when the lost friend is already a member of the community and is actively seeking to reconnect with you as well.

Do Your Research

A more time consuming way to reconnect with an old friend on MySpace is to search for them. This process can be incredibly time consuming and possibly fruitless or it can be extremely easy and rewarding. When searching for an old friend, begin your search by entering their complete name into the search feature and using the search by name button. If your old friend is a member of MySpace and has used his full name you will find him easily. There may be multiple results especially if your friend has a common name but you will likely recognize your friend when you come across his MySpace website.

If entering your friend’s complete name does not return any useful results you can also try entering their nickname. Members who do not use their full name when registering on MySpace often use a nickname as their moniker. Even if they don’t a search of the nickname may lead you to your friend’s website if his other friends refer to him by this nickname in their comments left on his website.

Finally, you can try using keywords related to your friend’s favorite hobby in searching for an old friend. This method is likely to be the most time consuming and may return countless result of those who share the same hobby as your friend.

Make a Plea

If all else fails, in searching for an old friend on MySpace you might consider making a plea for anyone who knows him to contact you on your blog or elsewhere on your website. You may find this leads to you being contacted either by your old friend directly or by someone who knows him and can provide you with contact information. This may sound like a farfetched search option but it is actually quite plausible. Many people enjoy the anonymity the Internet offers and are careful to avoid revealing personal details about themselves online. This may make it quite difficult for you to find an old friend on MySpace but it does not mean he is not a member. If he is a member it is likely he will find a blog posting on another website inquiring about where he is. This is because humans, by nature, can be quite narcissistic and it is not unusual for members of MySpace to routinely enter their own name into the search feature on MySpace to see if anyone is talking about them in the community.
