Ultimate Frisbee is a Great Workout (Sports, Whey Protein, and Weight Loss)

Posted in sports by admin on July 23, 2010 No Comments yet

Ultimate Frisbee is no longer an extreme fringe sport that people would play during lunch breaks in high school. Ultimate Frisbee is considered one of the fastest growing sports in America. Why has there been such a sudden rise in participation in Ultimate Frisbee? Many believe it is due to the simplicity of the game. There is no need for officials as you call your own fouls during the game, and there isn’t a large amount of equipment to purchase, just buy a Frisbee and you are ready to play. The rules are very simple; you throw the Frisbee to another person on your team who then catches it and stops. Your teammate then must throw the Frisbee to another member of your team. This continues until you reach your end zone or you drop the Frisbee. If you drop the Frisbee, then the other team gets possession and they start passing towards their end zone. There isn’t suppose to be any physical contact to stop the receivers of the Frisbee, neither can you be on top of the person throwing the Frisbee (there is a three foot halo rule around the thrower).

Although the game is simple, the workout that you will receive is not. Ultimate Frisbee is a game of constant movement. You are always moving, whether it is getting open to get the Frisbee or if you are playing defense and trying to knock down a poor pass. This constant movement will give you a much better workout compared to basketball, tennis, football, or really any other sport that involves frequent stoppages in play. The constant movement will increase your heart rate.

During the time that you are exercising your heart rate functions as the best monitor of the workout that you are receiving. You want your heart rate to stay within certain zones while you are working out. If your heart is beating between 60-80% of your maximum heart rate, then you are in a good zone for burning fats. Your body doesn’t feel as if it should be burning the quick energy stores in order to have sufficient energy to complete the physical activity that it is doing. It will harness the fat stored in your body that takes longer for your body to break down into energy. If your heart rate is over 80% of maximum then you are in the cardio workout zone. This zone of your heart rate is excellent for increasing your endurance and for helping to create lean muscle. While you are playing Ultimate Frisbee you will find that you are nearly always in these two heart rate zones.

Just like other athletes, people that play Ultimate Frisbee should get the most out of the time that they play the sport. The best way to ensure that you get a complete workout is to have a good nutritional program. Adding protein to your diet is a good way to help your body build lean muscle. Lean muscle will help your body to burn more fat, and thus you will lose more weight. In addition lean muscle will also help you to perform better on the field. Immediately after working out it is a good idea to give your body a large dose of protein. A good way to get this protein is by taking a whey protein supplement. Whey protein is easy for your body to digest and it also give over 90% pure protein, which is higher than other protein mixtures.

Ultimate Frisbee is a new sport that is increasing in popularity. If you are looking for a fun sport to play, and a sport that will help you to get a good workout, then try Ultimate Frisbee.

Computer Business Names That Attract Great Clients

Posted in Business Tech by admin on July 9, 2010 No Comments yet

Many technology professionals starting their own businesses underestimate the sheer power of computer business names as a marketing tool for more easily selling IT services to steady, high-paying clients. Choosing the right name for your company can be challenging and must be well thought out before you open for business.

There are many factors to consider as you are thinking through computer business names. To target the best, steady high-paying clients, your marketing materials and branding must communicate exactly what you do to solve small business technology problems.

Use the following 4 tips to decide on an appropriate computer business name that showcases your unique value proposition and target client base.

1. Think About Your Specialty and Niche Market. Do you have a specialty? Perhaps you are an expert at accounting or medical software. If so, you can use this specialized knowledge to your advantage when building your company’s identity. Also think about how your specialty relates to any niche market. Your proficiency with accounting software or experience working with accountants in a previous job might lead to you marketing yourself as an expert in that particular industry. If you choose a specialty and niche, make sure your name reflects this to attract the clients that will most benefit from your services. For example, you can add the term “accounting solutions” or a similar phrase to your computer business name.

2. Consider Your Location. Often your location can be a real benefit to prospects, customers and clients. When you are geographically close to your small business clients, they know they can count on you for important benefits such as faster response time, service guarantees, and a more competitive rate structure. As you are thinking through computer business names, seriously consider adding location to better communicate your identity and the strength of your services. This also helps to pre-qualify your potential clients. As an example, computer business names such as “[Your City or Your Region] Technology Solutions” will let your prospects know more about you and who you serve than simply “Technology Solutions.”

3. Keep Your Computer Business Name Short and Descriptive. When you are thinking about names, remember to make your company name short and descriptive. To get maximum impact with marketing materials and make yourself memorable to prospects, you should choose a name that can be easily made into a domain name for your Web site and become part of your e-mail address. That way when prospects are trying to get in touch they only have one thing to remember.

4. Make Sure Your Computer Business Name is Unique… At Least Locally! In most cases, a simple fictitious name search for similarly- or identically-named business entities or DBA’s in your city, county, or state/province is adequate. However to truly cover all bases, or if you have national (or even global) aspirations, consult with a qualified legal expert on trademarks and servicemarks. This will usually be an intellectual property attorney or solicitor.

In this article we talked about 4 critical tips that can help you think through different computer business names. Dynamics GP Partner: MS CRM Projects Time Integration to Great Plains

Posted in Software by admin on July 7, 2010 No Comments yet

In this small publication we are sharing our Microsoft CRM Consulting Time Logs tracking and integration via eConnect routine and SQL Server Stored Procedures, plus advanced custom SSRS reporting in CRM experience.  This solution is ready for deployment for new customers, who has employee time logs requirements and who has Dynamics GP as accounting base.  We assume that you are IT professional or Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM technical consultant:

1. Time Log option in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  For Account you can create contract, then if you need budgeting feature, you should add one or multiple Contract Lines, where you enter budget in Minutes and Cost  per minute or total contract line budget cost.  If you plan to have several layers of Billing rates, please consider having separate contract line for each rate.  When you have Contract and at least one Contract Line entered, please go to Actions and do Invoice Contract.  Then, open Contract Line and Create new Case for the Contract Line.  Then this case should be assigned to your consultants, who are CRM users obviously.  Users should see the Case in their CRM Workplace.  In the case we recommend users to log time in the form of new Task, where Duration in Minutes is counted against Contract Line Budget when you close the Case

2. Integration architecture.  As in MS CRM you only need to do SQL Select, we have Stored Procedures pulling time logs from Closed Case task and marking case as Transferred (custom table for case status is created in separate database as you are not supposed to create new objects in MS CRM DB).  Then eConnect routine checks Case Log Table in custom DB, reads closed case lines and creates Dynamics GP Sales Order Processing Invoice with the lines from MS CRM Tasks

3. Consultant Time Log Reporting.  We had this routine for earlier versions of MS CRM, where reporting was in Crystal Reports.  For MS CRM 4.0 you still have the option to link Crystal Report, however you can deploy Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or SSRS via New Report Wizard – some limitations apply, however if you edit the report in Microsoft Visual Studio and place it back to MS CRM Reporting Server you should be able to break through the limitations

4. MS CRM Time Log Integration to SAP Business One.  We also have routine, where instead of Dynamics GP eConnect we programmed it in Sap B1 SDK.  So, if you are tracking your timelogs in Microsoft CRM and your Accounting application is SAP Business One, feel free to call us for consultation

5. We would like to have feedback from you and if you need help with Dynamics GP Great Plains, Microsoft CRM or SB1 Integration, Customization Data Conversion, Reporting, feel free to call us: 1-866-528-0577, help@albaspectrum.com

Enjoy Great Savings on Sports and Outdoors Equipment

Posted in sports by admin on July 3, 2010 No Comments yet

Are you an outdoor sports fanatic? Do you love to hike, ski, or play sports, but you are tired of paying high equipment prices? Depending on your favorite sport, the cost for equipment can be thousands. However, there are many different way to save on your next equipment purchase. Consider the following for ways to save a bundle of cash.

1. First of all shop around – Check online and in the papers for equipment for sale. You can also check in your local phone book for sports equipment stores. You will likely find there are many sporting goods and outfitters available in your area. You might even check sites like Craigslist or Deals.com to see if you can find a good deal. Sporting and outdoor equipment can vary largely in price. Make sure you find the best deal.

2. Consider a trade – Many stores will allow you to trade in equipment you no longer use and receive credit you can use to buy the items you need. You might also put an ad in the paper or online classified to see if anyone has what you are looking for. In this case, you might find you have something that you can trade to someone who has your item. If you trade locally, you can probably trade things besides equipment.

3. Check with sports companies – Many local companies that rent equipment or host sporting events will sell older equipment they no longer need. If sports equipment is what you are in search of you might also check with local schools to see if they have equipment for sale. Many of the places offer sales each year.

4. Check online auctions – Many online auction sites will have outdoor or sporting equipment listed. You might just get lucky and win your item for a low bid. Look for items that are ending soon and place the highest bid in the end before someone can enter into a bidding war and make the price go up. You might also check for instant buy offers. However, with this type of site make sure you figure in shipping and handling costs as well.

5. Buy last year’s models – Many stores will offer clearance or close out models when the new models are coming into the store. The new models will generally have few differences for what is currently available. In this case, you get a brand new product at a discounted price just because a new one has come out.

These are all great ways to save money on your next purchase. However, make sure you check the safety of any product you are purchasing. When you are buying harnesses to save you from falling off a cliff or a helmet to protect you during a tackle, you want to make sure you will be protected. Check online review sites to make sure the great deal you found is recommended by people who have tried the product and found it safe and effective. When buying sports and outdoors equipment it is important never to sacrifice price for quality and safety.

Booking Great Fishing Charters

Posted in sports by admin on July 2, 2010 No Comments yet

When planning a fishing trip, always make sure you do enough research and feel prepared before you go. A quality fishing charter can provide a great fishing experience and help you get the most of your trip. Fishing charters are important because they often times have a top notch fishing boat to take you out on. This is less expensive than renting or buying your own boat. In addition, good fishing charters know the best fishing locations on the local waters. Their expertise will get you in the right spots at the right time which will improve your changes of catching fish. Also, expert fishing charters get you set up with the right kind of bait. Most anglers know that you have to have the right mix of bait depending on the time and season you are fishing. A good fishing charter has the experience to know what is working and gives you better chance to reel them in. Furthermore, a good fishing charter will usually have the latest equipment for you to use. Because of this, all you have to do is show up.

Fishing Charters are located throughout the world on many different bodies of water. Deep sea charters operate miles off the coast and target large sport fish. Near shore and inshore charters will usually have smaller boats and target species that live closer inland. There are also freshwater fishing charters that guide trips on many lakes and streams throughout the world. The great lakes are a popular location for fishing charters as these bodies of water are home to some great sport fishing. Before picking a fishing charter, you should talk to other people in the area that know the reputations of all the local guides. Also, try to hear which fishing charters other fisherman have gone with and recommend. This will give you confirmation on the best charters are and ensure a fun and safe trip.

Great Plains Consultant News: Upgrade to Version 10.0 Issues

Posted in Software by admin on June 14, 2010 No Comments yet

Microsoft Dynamics GP version 10.0 is current at this time, August 2008.  If you are planning to upgrade from earlier version, you should read the upgrade recommendations on your GP customer or partner source.  In some cases you may get original news and work around from consultants in the field, who are doing upgrade on the daily base.  We would like to give you the most popular upgrade highlights:

1.       Service pack sensitivity.  If you have GP 10.0 CD #1 and 2, it doesn’t mean that you just insert it and follow upgrade wizard.  It used to be like that with previous version, however update to 10.0 is sensitive to Service Packs applied.  The best recommendation is this – install initial GP 10.0 version from CD, then, prior to launching GP Utilities, apply latest service pack, available for version 10.0.

2.       Mekorma Safe Pay tables merge and upgrade issues.  Of course this is our unofficial opinion, however we saw it at this time twice in upgrade.  You get error messages about these tables: SY06000 and CM00101.  Both tables are new and in essence are replacement for abolished former Mekorma product tables.  The error is strange and at this time it is not logged in GP knowledge base: you should remove temporary table.  We tried the following work around.  Try to reload sample company TWO, then login to Sample company (Fabrikam), open maintenance->SQL, then in each company database drop and recreate these tables and atomic stored procedures.  This news might be short living, however for us it was really the pain and trouble

3.       GP 10.0 Workstation and .Net Framework version.  If you are on .Net framework 2.0 SP1 or 3.5, then you will need to uninstall these and then reload .Net framework 2.0 (without service pack) either from Microsoft Download Center or From GP CD #1.  If you are loading GP 10.0 WS on Windows 2003 server 64 bit edition, you should read Knowledge Base on how to make registry changes to allow you GP workstation installation

4.       FRx.  It seems to work as is, however you can follow additional FRx Service Pack installation instructions, or make it part of GP version update phase two

5.       Integration Manager.  In GP 10.0 you will see new connectors on the eConnect base.  Plus GP IM default integration database is now not pure Microsoft Access file

Old & New Friends Can be a Great Resource for Marketing Ideas

Posted in Community by admin on June 9, 2010 No Comments yet

Where do you get ideas for new marketing initiatives?

By keeping in touch with clients, you can identify current unmet needs and anticipate future service opportunities. And by monitoring trends that influence your market and impact your clients, you can also identify new opportunities.

Clearly these are the best sources of new ideas.

But they are not the only source.

Old Friend…New Idea

I offer two personal experiences in which new ideas originated from unexpected sources.

The first incident occurred during while reconnecting with a friend over lunch. We hadn’t seen each other in more than a year, so there was much catching up to do. After hearing about my past years’ activities, he suggested a new project for my consideration. Although we work in totally different and unrelated fields, he is a really good listener, and as a result, very insightful.

His suggestion was a really good idea.

New Acquaintance…New Idea

The second experience was quite different. I was with person I’d only met once before but with whom I had much in common. While chatting about our mutual interests, this individual, who thrives on learning and exploring new ideas, referred to a job search site and suggested that I check it out for new marketing ideas.

From a marketing perspective, we can learn two things from these experiences.

Other People Do Want To Help You

First, most people want to be helpful.

In practice, this means that almost everyone we know would like to be helpful. However, we tend to be selective about whose comments we take seriously. Just as we usually prefer the company of people who are like us, when it comes to running our business, we opt for suggestions from other people like us–other business owners.

As a result, we are inclined to screen out the insights and observations of otherwise intelligent people, simply because they have not chosen running their own businesses as a way of earning their livelihood.

Undoubtedly, we can and do learn from other owners who are walking the small business talk. But we can also learn lots of new things from other people, if we keep our minds open to their ideas and suugestions.

We Can Often Benefit From Their Help

This leads to the second lesson.

Regardless of the nature, size or location of our individual businesses, none of us can do it alone. In other words, in running our businesses, we all need the help of other people. Despite the know-it-all attitude that I occasionally encounter in business owners, including real estate agents, none of us knows everything we need to know.

Confident as we may feel that we have considered all possible new business opportunities, there will inevitably be things that we have missed. It’s usually easier leave the lens narrowly focused on the familiar than to adopt a newer, broader perspective. Our friends and family, regardless of their knowledge of our businesses, can help us apply this perspective.

In my case, one friend identified aspects of my experience and then suggested how I could beneficially apply this experience. The other person knew of a web site that had its usefulness not been pointed out, I would never have even considered.

Our friends and family can offer potentially useful insights, observations and information. Why should we disregard it just because the person who provides it does not run his or her own business?

Success in business depends on many critical factors. Sourcing new ideas is one such factor. Thankfully, people like my two friends are willing to help me.

Our continuing challenge is to remain open to their help.

Great Outdoor Jobs

Posted in sports by admin on June 8, 2010 No Comments yet

If you do not feel comfortable with the traditional working ways of a conventional office environment, but take delight in exploring the bounties of nature, a job in the outdoors could be ideal job for you. There are a plethora of job opportunities available in the recreation industry. All you need to do is find the right kind of job that not only pays you well but also serves your interests.

Job Opportunities

A broad spectrum of outdoor recreational jobs are readily available. However, you need to be sure that you make the right choice. When you have finally decided on a job that appeals to you, then you can find out further details as to what type of training, and skills are required for the job. Many job options exist in the field of outdoor recreational jobs. Jobs embracing aspects of nature, such as working in a wilderness park, river rafting, and mountain climbing can help to fulfill your desire to stay in constant touch with the nature.

If you wish to soar high in the sky, then try your luck at paragliding. If you like the winters and are good at sports, then a job in skiing would be the perfect choice. However, most of the outdoor jobs like skiing are season specific. Therefore, these recreational jobs provide employment only for a certain period of the year. Some recreation places may be operational only during the peak season. So it’s better to be mentally and financially prepared for a possibility of being unemployed for the rest of the year and plan ahead.

If you are a die hard fan of nature and don’t mind working outdoors in any type of weather, then you can find outdoor recreational jobs at places which are active and functional during summer as well as winter. If you are good at athletics, then you could venture out and search for jobs that give you a chance to play outdoor sports. With the right skills and efforts, you could land up securing a good salary and position. You could coach others like you who have similar interests, earn a good living and at the same time pursue a career of your interest. As a coach you could also volunteer in your spare time and serve your community.

Requirements

Working in the great outdoors calls for a lot of preparation on your part, specially being appropriately dressed according to the climate and your job requirements. If you enjoy basking in the warmth of sunlight, and have chosen a job that requires you to work in the months of summer, then it would be advisable to wear a sun block and dress lightly to combat the scorching heat.

Alternatively, if you don’t mind working in temperatures that are below zero, then wear woolen clothing like mittens, caps and mufflers, which cover you from head to toe and keep you nice and warm. If you are suitably dressed, you can take full advantage of the opportunity, and enjoy the thrill and adventure of working outdoors.

To earn money doing a job that you like is not only appealing but also very motivating.
