Learning a different language is something that most of us have in our to-do-in-this-lifetime list. But no matter how great that might be, we know that it’s exceptionally difficult for us to learn a language that we absolutely haven’t been exposed to.

For a fact, Rocket German merges the traditional audio lessons with more interactive ones like games.

In Rocket German, your lessons start off by listening to a certain audio lesson. For the entire course, you will go through 31 different audio lessons.

After you are done with the audio lesson, you may then move to conversational books. For every lesson that you listen to, you will have a specific chapter to read.

These conversational books will help you with different aspects such as grammar.

Finally, when you are done with the two media platforms, you can then enjoy the different games that come with the course. There are three software games included in the package including MegaVocab with vocabulary.

Although Rocket German claims to have you speaking fluently in German in just a matter of three months, this all ultimately depends on your level of interest in learning the language.

I know that this may raise some eyebrows and I reacted the same way. We aren’t all linguistically inclined so the rate of learning ultimately depends on our level of interest and desire to learn.

Educational Foundation Grant will Go to Garden
At its March 3 meeting, the directors of the East Aurora Educational Foundation, Inc. voted to approve grant funding in the amount of $8,000 for a community garden project at Parkdale Elementary School in East Aurora. Teacher Kimberly McAtee will serve as the project coordinator.

A camping adventure can be great fun for your child in many different ways. In addition to swimming and playing outdoor sports, your child can also use your camping adventure as a science experiment. When you take the time to prepare ahead to understand how science and nature come together, you can be sure to really enhance the camping experience.

Exploring nature when on a camping trip is not only a fun activity, but it is also educational. There are a large number of living, breathing creatures that can be found outdoors. All children love exploring nature, but there are some who may enjoy this exploration more than others. Those children are likely to be toddlers or elementary school aged children.

One of the many ways that you can incorporate science into your camping adventure is by studying the plants that can be found in your area. Start with the large variety of plants or flowers. These supplies may include, but should not be limited to containers, butterfly catching nets, magnifying glasses, picture books, and resource guides. If your child is planning on capturing a few insects, a small cage or breathable container may be just what they need. These supplies, along with others, can be purchased from most retail stores.

When examining the plants, bugs, and flowers in your backyard, you and your child may want to document what you see. This can easily be done with a notebook or a camera. By taking pictures, your child will always be able to remember their exploration adventures. Those pictures could also be used for other crafts. Scrapbooks and collages are a great way to turn traditional photographs into something much more.
