Making Money From Sports Apparel Being Manufacturer Or A Distributor

Posted in sports by admin on May 4, 2010 No Comments yet

Every year, thousands of shirts, shorts, pants, jackets and other accessories are produced every year. This can be for brands like Nike, Reebok, Champion and Adidas to name a few that are made in different countries and sold around the world.

Research shows that between 2004 and 2005, the importation of these goods rose by more than four percent. This is about $24 billion in apparel alone that analysts predict will continue to grow as people are becoming more health conscious.

If the person wants to make some money, then getting into the sports apparel business can be rewarding. All the entrepreneur has to do is tie up with a major company then have the equipment to do the products or have it outsourced elsewhere.

Having it done in another country is the trend in the manufacturing industry. This is because the costs of labor outside are much cheaper than doing it back home. The biggest market not only for sports apparel but a wide range of other products is China.

As long as these suppliers follow the guidelines set by the client, there won’t be any problems with the flow of goods that arrive per season.

Companies follow a certain standard when it comes to what is small, medium, large and extra large. However some people fall in between so getting one that is custom made is an alternative.

The customer will have to be fitted first then use an existing design or come up with one so this can be made. Though this is done more often among triathletes, the same thing can be done to anyone who wants to do well in a sport.

Manufacturers who come up with new designs each year also have to compete against other companies using new technology. Some designers are experimenting with clothes that have a microchip but have had better success by putting this into the shoe.

Those who don’t want to get into the business of manufacturing sports apparel but still want to make money can just put up a shop instead. This will involve getting into a partnership with one of the major dealership to become a distributor or invite these firms to have a small space in the store.

The sports apparel industry is a growing business and those who want to make money can either be a manufacturer or a distributor of these goods.

Why You Should Consider Being A Small Business Marketing Consultant

Posted in Business Tech by admin on April 18, 2010 No Comments yet

A home-based business is the ideal set-up for housewives, retirees, part-timers and anyone looking for additional sources of income. It’s easy to set up, inexpensive, convenient and helps pay the monthly bills.

While there are infinite ways to earn money while working at home, none can be as lucrative as being a small business marketing consultant. Here’s why:

* Low start-up capital

Your greatest asset in consultancy is not cash or equipment (although you will need a basic computer setup with an internet connection to start with) but your knowledge, skills and mindset. The best way to earn money is to provide a solution to a problem. Small businesses constantly need fresh input for marketing their products and services in the Internet. With your knowledge in Internet marketing, you can provide concrete solutions for which these small businesses are willing to pay.

* No inventory

Unlike most home-based businesses that sell items on the Internet, you won’t need to maintain an inventory of goods at home because your product is your skill or service. Your consulting business can continue without you having to replenish or buy new stock.

* Recurring monthly income

When you are a small business marketing consultant, you get paid monthly for your advice and services. Typically, once you are retained as a consultant, your client is bound to pay a monthly service fee at the start of each month. You not only get paid monthly, your services are prepaid as well!

* No transportation hassles

Sellers on eBay, Etsy and other eCommerce sites may be earning money from retail or wholesale but they also contend with transportation or delivery costs. While these costs may be transferred to the buyer, sellers have to step out and get their items delivered.

As a small business marketing consultant, rendering advice or providing a service is often done over the phone, by email and on the Internet. By working entirely at home, you spend less on gas and parking fees and won’t have to suffer through daily traffic jams. With virtually no commute time, you contribute to a cleaner environment as well.

Almost anyone can be a small business marketing consultant these days. Stock knowledge in Internet marketing is a plus but there are excellent resources nowadays that teach the basics and advanced techniques in short and easy-to-follow courses. There are many ways to make money from home, but if you are on a shoestring budget and love helping people, then starting a consulting business is the one for you.

Start My Own Computer Business, without Being a Sell-Out

Posted in Business Tech by admin on April 9, 2010 No Comments yet

If you are in the IT field and trying to find clients to help you build a new company, perhaps you’ve said to yourself, “I want to start my own computer business … but I HATE to sell!”

Sales calls are an art form. Many new to the computer business have never had to sell anything before and will see sales calls as intimidating. But with right anti-sales approach, and if you get the right perspective and understand the most likely outcomes of your prospective client appointments, you are already on your way to becoming a sales call expert.

The following 3 tips can help those that say, “I want to start my own computer business … but I don’t like sales.”

Don’t Sell. How can you “sell” yourself without selling yourself? With sales calls, you need to get creative. The trick is, guide the prospect’s decision. Ask him/her questions that seduce the person into hiring you. When your marketing activities are highly-targeted and your leads are highly-qualified, your prospective client appointments become more about a mutual interview than any kind of traditional selling. An effective sales call does not involve standard selling at all. In fact, approaching this meeting like a mutual interview will typically end with prospects pushing YOU to take them on. On the surface, this may seem like a minor difference, but it can be a very powerful positioning strategy. Know What a Bad Sales Call Looks Like. Often, there are two negative situations that can arise from sales calls gone wrong with new prospects. However, these negatives can truly be a blessing in disguise. Why? You should view these mis-steps as warning signs of a potentially bad if not disastrous client … or simply someone that will waste your time and is not actually interested in your services. The first negative outcome of a sales call will be a prospect that is just picking your brains and has no intention of paying for services. In this situation, the prospect is viewing the sales call as an opportunity to get free advice. This type of prospect has probably never had professional IT service before and is not about to pay for it. The other bad outcome of a sales call is a prospect that is just shopping prices and views the sales call as a solicitation for bids. This prospect will not be interested in your services either and will just want to know what it might cost for you to do what he/she thinks needs to be done. Look for warning signs of either of these scenarios and cut these prospects loose as soon as possible. Be Prepared for Successful Sales Calls. Many that say “I want to know how to start my own computer business” don’t have a clue about what to expect when it comes to sales calls, either bad or good. Once you’ve weeded out the time-wasters, look for signs of prospects that are interested and will make good long-term clients. One common scenario is that you get a call from a prospect that needs emergency service. Many new to the business mistake these types of calls for one-shot-deals that have no long-term potential. This can be a big, short-sighted mistake, as many new client relationships start with emergency service and fixing something that is broken. These emergency service opportunities help you prove yourself as you fix the problem right away, calmly and professionally, and show you know what you are doing, and are like-able and trustworthy. You end up with a couple hundred dollars in service revenue. But more importantly, you now have a new paying customer who may very well become a loyal long-term client in the future. The other positive result of a good sales call is an IT audit, sometimes called a technology assessment. So be prepared to clearly outline the benefits of the work you do and “seduce” your prospects into getting the ball rolling with something small to start. Look for these two signs of success and start to build relationships with prospects that are willing and able to pay for your professional services and solutions.

In this article, we discussed 3 tips for those that say “I want to start my own computer business, without being a sell-out.” Learn more about how you can attract great, steady, high-paying clients now at http://www.StartMyOwnComputerBusiness.com

Cell Phone Roaming Charges are being eliminated by one of the top wireless service providers

Posted in wireless-networking by admin on January 31, 2010 No Comments yet

AT&T Wireless has announced an aggressive offer which will
eliminate cellular roaming charges for many of its customers.
This offer is made possible because of the company’s doubling of
its national GSM coverage area in the past year, which is now
approximately 1.2 million square miles in the United States.
During the past year AT&T has has improved and/or added 15,000
cell sites. Major improvements have also been made in its GSM
network, according to AT&T Wireless, in a recent news release
These very positive changes will benefit cell phone users
throughout the country, who have been paying hefty cellular
phone roaming charges, once out of their coverage area. This has
always been a major source of dissatisfaction with mobile phone
users for many years. All AT&T Wireless customers can enroll in
this new national plan, which is called GSM America, together
with existing customers who are on one of the company’s
qualifying GSM plans. Wireless phone users can automatically
benefit by paying no roaming charges anywhere in the United
States. As long as these customers are using a wireless data
service, they no longer have to worry about paying for roaming
charges when they place their calls. This is not only great news
for cellular phone customers but also for business customers.
Large businesses whose employees have to travel for work, can
now use their wireless date applications anywhere they travel.
Not only do they have more coverage areas, but they also incur
lower costs for their company. In addition to expanding its
coverage area, AT&T Wireless has also vastly improved the
quality of their GSM network and they have installed hardware
and software which allows customers to enjoy superior wireless
calling communication, through new GSM devices which generate a
stronger signal, travel over a larger area and penetrate walls
far better and more efficiently. These network improvements have
enhanced calling quality in many of the large major cities in
the country. These upgrades have led to increases in signal
strength of almost double and the audio quality of calls is
vastly improved. Unlike before, where signals were very often
poor or non-existent inside buildings, it is now being reported
that calls are coming through loud and clear from inside
buildings. In order for mobile phone customers to enjoy the
larger GSM service area and the superior network quality, all
new devices which AT&T Wireless introduces this year will be 850
compatible. The latest Motorola V600 camera phone will also be
compatible. The new AT&T Wireless GSM American national plan
will allow cellular customers to take advantage of the benefits
of the larger and more improved GSM coverage area. For as little
as $39.99 per month, customers can enjoy 450 anytime minutes
each month and they will not have to pay roaming or domestic
long distance charges. In addition to these great services,
customers will get free unlimited mobile to mobile calls on
AT&T’s Wireless GSM network. If customers wish to choose a
slightly more expensive cellular phone plan, they can get
unlimited evening and weekend calling, starting at 7:00pm. For
those customers who make most of their calls from their home
coverage area, they can choose a local version of the AT&T
Wireless GSM American plan that suits their needs.

The Lack of Self-love is More Than Just an Individual Crisis – the Joy of Being You!

Posted in Community by admin on January 11, 2010 No Comments yet

Did you let love into your life today? Do you know how to take care of the cracks of your ego?

If there were a skill I would want a child or any human being on the planet to cultivate into his or her life, it would be to appreciate, trust, and love who they are – regardless of their circumstances or conditions.

Can you enjoy who you are when the circumstances of your life are less than ideal? When things are not going your way, when you are triggered out of the flow of the present? Can you flow with the way things are and not turn against yourself unconsciously – taking it personally? Can you be OK with yourself and enjoy who you are never the less?

Easier said than done. “Re-member who you are my love” a friend reminded me the other day, when I got lost in pain, turned against myself and forgot to open to loving it – rather than resist it. I forgot to take care of my ego crack – feeling unwanted, although I had all the reasons to feel that way. (My partner left me a couple of months ago… I didn’t feel wanted as a child…. etc.)

Can you re-member who you are, when you are fragmented with self doubt and are torn inside by pain, or when you feel lonely, anxious or depressed; can you see it as an opening to love that part in you – because it is part of who you are, and this is your job (Joy Of Being) here? Are you ready to become more responsible for your life by loving your ‘unwanted parts’, and thus more powerful?

The very thing that we are most afraid of, repulsed by or resist – is in us, hiding in a crack of the ego, making up a life of its own, draining us of vital energy, joy and authenticity, often putting the blame on someone else – or on ourselves. Eventually, this pain, this hurt, this disturbance, needs our own compassionate attention, acceptance and love, first by calming our world into a more surrendered state of conscious breathing, body grounding, thought investigation, or dancing with abandon.

At any point in time, you can re-create yourself, calm your world and allow love into the cracks in your wounded ego – and really take care of yourself in a way that only you can, returning to presence and the Joy of being you.

Nothing is more creative, more magical and more spiritual than allowing love – our very essence, heal us, fill you, and set us free.

As I’m writing, my nose is running, and my throat is scratching. I have one of these summer colds – that sometimes happens after you have had too much sugar, too much cheese, not too much sleep, and after you let go of something you were attached to and were stressed about. I was supposed to go to Paris for a couple of days – and the trip got cancelled three hours before it was to take place. We couldn’t find a hotel because it was fashion week and a world rugby tournament was taking place. We had a choice to make – to leave anyway, hoping that some hotel would have room upon our arrival, or to let it go. We chose the later. Immediately after making that choice I felt relief, not realizing the stressful toll of spending hours on the phone and on the Internet trying to find a hotel would take on me. However, what really stayed with me was a joy of being. In the communication I had with about fifteen hotel managers – I felt respect, politeness and humor. “Could they sense that while talking to them I was surrendering to my breath, connecting to theirs and flexing my core muscles? Did they actually sense thousands of miles away that I was doing some inner work while speaking to them, sending them a wave of joy through my breath? It was as if I went to Paris energetically – without taking a flight. Instead of having jet-leg I had a summer cold, feeling the Joy Of Being. I didn’t take it personally. My ego was not wounded by it.

The process became more important than the results. Enjoying the process made it easier to let go of the trip and accept that it was not meant to be. The connection to the breath accessed the joy of being. Without a connection to something innate that we all share, beyond our divisive Ego Fear Mind – there is no real joy. But, making this connection – is primarily our responsibility alone as human beings. While everyone wants it – it is also most resisted and feared by the Ego Fear Mind.

What happened to senator Craig, getting caught in a ‘lewd act’ in a public bathroom, exemplifies the absurdity and the struggle to become and enjoy who we are. We live in a culture so hypocritical about the right to be who we are, yet celebrating those who dare to be themselves. We desperately need to cut through the veils of shame, denial and fear of our true nature, and need more demonstrations of those who dare to be themselves and enjoy who they are.

“The lack of self-love is more than just an individual crisis: it is an ecological hazard. When we condemn and loathe ourselves we tend to condemn others, the world and the way things are. For this reason, we feel alienated from the human family. Conversely, loving ourselves unites us with the world and makes it a happier place. Only by reconnecting to presence – our authentic selves, can we be connected to the world at large.” (an excerpt from the Joy Of Being You)

What if you were honest and courageous enough with yourself to realize that what you really have in this life is the truth and the joy of being you – your presence. And yes, there is a price to be paid for that. Perhaps part of it is putting yourself in embarrassing situations and get caught in a pubic bathroom… clicking your feet…. snapping your fingers… for a stolen moment of intimacy, while helping legislate laws that punish people and deprive them of the right to be who they are. On the other hand – this is an opportunity to wake up and let love into the crack of the ego that is wrecked with shame and denial of being. Maybe, that’s what we have to go through in the process of becoming free to be who we are?

How many of us, are jumping through hoops, putting ourselves in harms way, lying and deceiving, betraying and abandoning ourselves – because we are so afraid, guilty and ashamed of being who we are, unable to have compassion, accept and love ourselves – envious of and acting out against those who are?

The mission of this work is to help you become authentic and cultivate happiness with yourself – your presence; access the joy of being you, and express it in your own life, share it with others, the environment and in the world. (Including forgiving yourself for your f—k ups, because you’re human -:)

The Joy Of Being You – book and 2 CD’s can help you become the one you have been waiting for and cultivate presence. Feeling safe and worthy to open up and compassionately recognize the cracks of your wounded ego, fill them with spaciousness and love, and heal in you what you’re mostly afraid of, resistant to and stuck – on a daily basis. It provides you with simple skills and practices and with a special 21 days of Cultivating Authenticity, Self – Love & Presence by:

1.Calming Your World – clearing stress, pain, anxiety and insecurity

2.Accessing your spiritual Intelligence, intuition and good sense,

3.Aligning with your breath…

4.Grounding your body…

5.Investigating your thoughts…..

6.Waking up your heart…

7.Freeing your spirit…

8.ConfiDANCE – dancing with abandon…

Our programs include: Introductory six-week courses, intermediate 12-week group training, advanced coaching programs for groups and for individuals, and individual and couple sessions. We conduct workshops, lectures and retreats. We offer CD’s, DVD’s books and articles, email support and online demonstration.

The Responsibility Of Being A Sports Coach

Posted in sports by admin on November 15, 2009 No Comments yet

Whether we are talking about professional, sanctioned sports or organized youth sports makes no difference; coaching in sports is an awesome responsibility.

Some may ask, “What exactly is a coach?” Well, the World Wide Web offers the following definition; “In sports, a coach is an individual involved in the direction and instruction of the on-field operations of an athletic team or of individual athletes.

Coaching entails the application of sport tactics and strategies during the game or contest itself, and usually entails substitution of players and other such actions as needed. Most coaches are former participants in the sports in which they are involved, and those who are not have had extensive training in the sport in question.”

Coaches not only have the responsibility of teaching the fundamentals of their chosen sport, but they are entrusted to guide the athletes as individuals, as well as offer an example of behavior for the team to follow. While different sports, as well as the different sports organizations that coaches work for, all have their own set of rules and regulations, there are a few fundamentals that all coaches are expected to follow.

For example, all coaches are expected to abide by the particular laws that govern their sport, and to make sure that the athletes do so as well. In sports, there also exist unwritten rules of sportsmanship and ethics that all coaches are expected to follow and enforce with their team. These ethical standards cover such things as fair play and the integrity of the team as well as the individual athletes.

Coaches must ensure that their players are safe and protected during games as well as during practices. They are expected to provide and maintain a drug free environment, act as a role model both on and off of the playing field, ensure respectful conduct among the players and so much more. Coaches are also expected to keep current on any new provisions that might come into being that relates to the sport they are coaching.

Since it takes so much to be a good, effective coach, there are now many institutes of higher learning that actually offer classes for coaches. Classes run the gamut from how to influence the players, how to motivate players, as well as how to build team spirit.

With the huge number of different sports, as well as the diversity of the players, many coaches find themselves in need of an education that will better equip them to handle a certain group of athletes. For example, with more and more women’s sports teams being formed, this presents a problem for the male coach who has never had to coach anything except a team of males. Being a coach in sports is not an easy job, but it does have the potential to be a rewarding one.

“Getting outside of yourself” by HAROLD RUSSEL, Past National Commander, AMVETS; U.S. Representative, World Veterans Federation; Harold John Russell was a Canadian-American World War II veteran who became one of only two non-professional actors to win an Academy Award for acting . Russell also holds the unique honor of being the only person to receive two Academy Awards for the same role. While an Army instructor, and training with the U.S. 13th Airborne Division stateside in 1944, a defective fuse detonated an explosive he was handling while making a training film. As a result, he lost both hands and was given two hooks to serve as hands. After his recovery, and while attending Boston University as a full-time student, an Army film called Diary of a Sergeant about rehabilitating war veterans was made featuring Russell. When film director William Wyler saw the film on Russell, he cast him in the film The Best Years of Our Lives with Fredric March and Dana Andrews. Russell played the role of Homer Parrish, a sailor who lost both hands during the War. For his role as Parrish, Russell won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1947.
