Introducing Computer Telephony Integration

Posted in Personal Computers by admin on July 28, 2010 No Comments yet

Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) allows you to increase productivity, enhance customer service and reduce costs by combining your digital phone system with Windows applications. Computer telephony integration allows you to simply point and click a phone number in your computer database to make an outbound telephone call and by combining your telephone and computer; you get benefits by utilizing CTI.

Computer Telephony Integration allows you to use your PC to perform tasks such as calling line identifications; this is where caller information appears when the phone rings, caller number identification and Middleware that allows you to choose how your PC application responds to each call. You can customize the application for call-handling rules and conditions by utilizing the call control flexibility functions that Middleware offers.

Middleware also allows you to handle multiple calls that generates the identification information of each caller, activates specific responses in different situations and generates screen display when reconnecting to a call placed on hold or transferred. Based on the call type, it can be customized to generate different displays or responses to fit your needs.

It is easy to set up, test and monitor advanced tools. By simplifying interface testing, debugging, call-event monitoring and set up of applications, you can select from pre-defined applications and the proper interface will be assigned. Through computer telephony integration, it is easy to control your calls, even in high volume situations, such as outbound telemarketing.

Computer Telephony Integration allows a user to utilize a PC soft phone with powerful enhancements that increase productivity. Through database integration it is possible to have a Smart Operator console that runs on a client PC and can provide features like, dialling, call control, text messaging, extension status, recent call history, call waiting, last number redial and many others.

Computer telephony integration can be utilized through a Smart Server by direct connection to a business PBX and live connections to the company’s contact data. Through a Smart Phone Suite, computer integration can make your telephone system a more productive part of your operation and can also increase employee productions.

It allows business management access to live statistics, missed callers, live call information, historical and contact lookup features. It can give you the statistics and information you need to make business decisions more knowledgeably.

Through SIP trunks or Session Initiation Protocol, companies can communicate over IP connections, by creating a single connection between the telephone company and the IP computer lines. This allows complete computer telephony integration to VOIP phone service and other sophisticated technology that can give a business cost savings and a more effective means of communicating through PCs.

As technology becomes more advanced, computer telephony integration will become the most cost effective means to increase productivity and handle communications between employees at location or remotely and with customers.

By utilizing Windows applications, your PC can assist with many tasks that are now additional cost features with traditional business telephone service. By using Computer telephony integration, it is easy to control call functions and monitor phone utilization by employees throughout the organization, no matter where they may be located.

Concise of Lake Orion has Computer Trouble Shooting Skills that Includes Fixing the Client as Well

Posted in Personal Computers by admin on July 23, 2010 No Comments yet

As the computer repair center for Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Counties, Concise maintains a client list that resembles the “who’s who” in the Michigan small business community.  They are good, and they are growing out of their digs in Bloomfield Hills.

One of the reasons that Concise is so well respected in their industry is because they take the time to explain and teach at the same time.  Let’s face it, the information highway has its own language today.  Computer techies have always had a vernacular that tended to exclude the rest of the non-techie world.  Making things worse for us non-techies today, is the next layer of computer- speak: abbreviations of all the words that we had no clue about from the beginning.

The staff at Concise will now lead the pc tech support field by offering a series of articles with those definitions of words from the computer tech support world.  This is the first offering in what Concise hopes will be a long series of definitions from the computer tech speaker.

HONEYPOT

Wikipedia defines a HONEYPOT in computer speak, as a trap set to detect, deflect, or in some manner counteract unauthorized attempts to obtain use of information systems.

A HONEYPOT consists of a computer, data, or a network site that appears to be part of a network. But, the Honeypot is actually an isolated and unprotected deadend which appears to a hacker as valuable information.

Simply put, a HONEYPOT is a seductive decoy.  It lures the attacker into a harmless area of your system where it could be isolated, detected, and hopefully discovered by cyber police.

Another use of the Honeypot is to isolate spam.  Spammers abuse vulnerable resources such as open mail relays.  Some system administrators have created honeypot programs that masquerade as these decoy resources to discover spammer activity. There are several capabilities that honeypots provide to the administrators and the existence of such seductive bait systems makes abuse more difficult or risky for the spammer. Honeypots can be a powerful countermeasure to abuse from those who rely on very high volume abuse (e.g., spammers).  These honeypots can reveal the apparent IP address of the abuse and provide bulk spam capture (which enables operators to determine spammer’s URLs and response mechanisms).

HONEYNETS

Two or more honeypots on a network form a HONEYNET. Typically, a HONEYNET is used for monitoring a larger and/or more diverse network in which one honeypot may not be sufficient. Honeynets and honeypots are usually implemented as parts of a larger computer trouble shooting system. A HONEYFARM is a centralized collection of honeypots and analysis tools.

The next visit from a Concise Computer Consulting technician should go smoother.  And, when the topic turns to setting up a Honeyfarm for your small business’s computer system, you will immediately understand that you are not about to purchase a bunch of bee hives.

Concise, Computer Repair of Royal Oak, has a data backup solution so that you don’t have to worry about it?

Posted in Personal Computers by admin on July 21, 2010 No Comments yet

Your data can be backed up in an automated fashion so that you don’t have to worry about it.  Look for a computer repair center with a computer repair technician that offers secure, offsite date backup systems to their clients!

Having offsite data protection allows you to have another measure of data security in case of hardware failure, fire, theft, or any other terrible thing that could happen to your technology.

Even if you already back-up your data, it is always best to have a redundant backup disaster recovery system. When dealing with the important data that you generate with your business, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

You should be able to find an on site computer service with a very affordable monthly fee.  It should be able to back up your data through the internet each night to a secure server. Back-up logs should be automatically e-mailed to both you and your service daily which will be used to monitor the status of each backup.

Computers are used for an ever-increasing amount of functions today, including storing our personal photographs, e-mails, documents, and other information that is near and dear to us all.

There are several different types of in-office or in-home backups that should help set you up, including (but not limited to):

External Hard Drives Tape Backup CD and DVD Burners USB Thumb Drives Iomega REV Drives Network Backup

Nokia has done it again and they will I think go on doing this again and again. They have improved their N series mobile phone one after another and now the successor of N95, Nokia N96 launched with much pomp and show in Brussels in 2008. This phone has some features which if if told at first seems unbelievable. Even I too didn’t believe when somebody told me that the phone has an internal capacity of 16GB, till I saw the phone and the specifications of the phone in their official website.

Nokia N96 is the all new multimedia computer phone which has been very aptly optimized for TV and videos. The 2.8” large screen of the never lets you bring the phone close to your nose to see the videos clearly and the screen can support high quality videos and you would feel as if you are watching DVD and that too in wide range of formats. Nokia N96 has 16 GB internal memory and I don’t know what I would save in this phone if I have this much space. In 16GB you can store around 10-12 movies. Now just imagine the number of songs, music, games, and other things that you can store in your phone. The phone supports all video formats including MPEG-4, Flash video and Windows Media Videos. The connectivity with USB 2.0 makes your transfer of files faster than before and the HSDPA or WLAN is an added feature.

The phone with powerful internet connectivity, TV, videos and other multimedia option has been successful to prove its muscles more stronger than other phones in the market. Nokia N96 is a complete phone compatible for all situations- entertainment, office work, photography and others. Old on take your breathe!
